TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Today was warm, sunny, and lovely, topping out in the mid to upper 70s. We will turn cool slowly this evening, sinking down through the 60s overnight. We will wake up in the mid to upper 50s on Thursday morning.

Thursday starts out quite lovely, with cool temperatures and a few clouds. As we warm up back into the upper 70s winds will build, becoming quite gusty by the afternoon. Expect SW winds between 12-17 mph and gusts between 20-25 mph.

A weak front will approach the Nature Coast after sunset on Thursday. We expect a few overnight showers that may linger into Friday morning.

A cold front arrives in the early morning hours of Friday, and it brings a 30% chance of rain . This front cools us slightly Saturday, and highs return to the low 70s. That doesn’t last long either.

The front lifts back north, and rain chances return Saturday evening. With the stalled front lingering around the state of Florida, rain chances also linger around Sunday and Monday.

Finally, it looks like a stronger push of drier and cooler air arrives late Wednesday.
