TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Today wasn’t quite as cold as the weekend, we finally made it into the 50s for the afternoon. Temperatures are turning cold once again tonight, but we do not expect widespread temperatures below freezing. We will see some temperatures dip below freezing, mainly in Citrus, inland Hernando counties.

Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies and more cold temperatures tonight. We will wake up in the low 40s in Tampa on Tuesday morning. Temperatures will begin to warm up, making it into the mid 50s by the lunch hours and eventually warming into the low 60s. Skies will clear out early Tuesday morning and will see a lot more sunshine Tuesday afternoon.
This will help to warm temperatures into the mid 60s. The warming trend continues through the middle and end of the week. High temperatures hit 70 on Wednesday, and we’re back in the lower 80s by the weekend.

Friday feels very comfortable, but there is a small chance for an isolated shower late on Friday. Saturday is the best chance for rain this week, it is also New Year’s Eve. Right now the timing of the showers is late Saturday night into Sunday morning, which could put a damper on celebrations and fireworks for the New Year. Hopefully the front behind the rain speeds up or slows down, keeping the rain out of our New Year’s Eve forecast – we will keep you updated as we know more.
