“It was an emu-sing story.”

Police in Arizona were tasked with rescuing an emu that escaped from a home in Phoenix.

Police responded to a call about a large bird on the loose in the area of 65th Street and Cactus Road at about 6 a.m. Sunday.

Once the large fowl was captured, police shared video of the rescue on social media and were able to locate the owner.

“Thanks to a nearby Scottsdale PD officer for holding on to it until we can escort it home,” the agency said on Facebook.
