Kucherov named Hart Trophy finalist

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Tampa Bay Lightning announced on Sunday that forward Nikita Kucherov was named a Hart Trophy finalist.

The award goes “to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team, per the National Hockey League.” 

Kucherov led the NHL with 128 points and 87 assists during the regular season, capturing his first career Art Ross Trophy, which is given to the player with the most regular season points. 

Kucherov is one of three finalists. Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby and Edmonton’s Connor McDavid are also nominated for this award. 

The winner will be announced at the 2019 NHL Awards held Wednesday, June 19th.
