Bud Light to release ‘Bud Lightning’ cans if Tampa Bay wins the Stanley Cup

Want to enjoy a nice can of Bud Lightning? If the Bolts win the Stanley Cup this year, you will be able to.

The Tampa Bay Lightning hit the ice Wednesday night for their first game in this year’s NHL playoffs. Their opening up their Road to the Cup at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Hours before puck drop, Bud Light announced they will introduce “Bud Lightning” cans if the Bolts win it all. The 16 oz. cans would be available in the Tampa Bay area. They would feature the words “Bud Lightning” instead of Bud Light and would have the Bolts logo on the can.

The Lightning helped make the announcement on Twitter, posting a message to Bud Light saying, “How about a name change for the playoffs?”

Bud Light replied, “Win it all and we’ll make #BudLightning a reality.”

Lightning fans quickly responded to approve the idea. One Twitter user even joked, “If this happens, I will permanently switch from @MillerLite to @budlight for the rest of my life.”
