Tampa Bay Rays’ pitchers and catchers continue their workouts in Port Charlotte.
Ryne Stanek is a guy who was called up from Triple-A Durham last May and found himself in this “opener” pitching role, starting the first 1 to 3 innings or so.
With the success this pitching staff had in 2018 using a rather unusual way of managing the bullpen, Stanek isn’t necessarily surprised elite pitchers, like Charlie Morton, decided to come to Tampa Bay.

The Rays first spring training game will take place on Feb. 22 against the Phillies. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
