The Tampa Bay Rays have been busy over the last 48 hours, finalizing the 2 year, $30 million deal that would send right handed pitcher Charlie Morton to Tampa.
On Thursday, the team traded away first baseman Jake Bauers.
This was actually a three-team trade with the Cleveland Indians and Seattle Mariners.
The Rays acquired infielder Yandy Díaz and minor league pitcher Cole Sulser from Cleveland. In exchange, Bauers heads to Cleveland and cash goes to Seattle.
This trade also sends Edwin Encarnación to the Mariners and Carlos Santana goes to the Indians.
Díaz has spent parts of the last two seasons in the majors, appearing in 88 games with 71 starts and batting .283 with 13 doubles, three triples, one home run and 28 RBI.
