Bucs prepared to face Saints’ running back Alvin Kamara

A season opening date with the defending NFC South champions, the New Orleans Saints, isn’t the easiest way to begin the year. However, the Bucs did beat the Saints to end the 2017 season, 31 to 24.

The Bucs are still 9.5 point underdogs.

For this Tampa Bay defense, they’ll be facing a Saints offense without running back Mark Ingram. He’s suspended for the first 4 games for violating the league’s PED policy.

Alvin Kamara, 2017’s Rookie of the Year, will step up in Ingram’s absence.

Defensive end, Jason Pierre-Paul, may be playing his first game in a Bucs uniform on Sunday, but says he’s already given his teammates some pointers on how to stop a guy like Kamara.

JPP said, “I’m anxious to play him [Kamara] because I’ve played running backs like that and I know how to play them. Le’Veon Bell and him…you got to be patient with them. From what I’ve seen…I’ve seen a lot of keys that are going to help me play him. I’ve been giving the d-lineman a couple of tips.”

JPP didn’t discuss what these tips were, but let’s hope they’re effective stopping the run on Sunday.
