TAMPA, Fla (WFLA) Less than 24 hours after releasing nine-year veteran defensive lineman Gerald McCoy, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were linked to the other big defensive lineman from the 2010 NFL Draft, Ndamukong Suh.
ESPN reported on Tuesday that the Bucs were closing in on a one-year, ten million dollar deal with Suh, who is coming off a Super Bowl appearance with the Los Angeles Rams. The terms would save the Bucs approximately three million dollars from their 2019 salary cap.
Suh and McCoy were compared all the way back during their college days, with Suh going number two in the first round of the draft, followed by McCoy to the Bucs at number three.
Dan Lucas and Scott Reynolds of PewterReport.com discussed the possibility of the Bucs adding Suh, shortly after the Bucs Organized Team Activity practice on Tuesday, just hours before the national reports began to surface.
