The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the hiring of Todd Bowles as its new defensive coordinator on Wednesday.

Bowles is the former head coach of the New York Jets, a position he held until he was dismissed at the end of 2018.

Bowles shared the sidelines with Buccaneers’ new head coach Bruce Arians back when they coached together in Arizona for the Cardinals in 2013 and in 2014.

Bowles spent two seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Cardinals, including winning Assistant Coach of the Year honors from the Pro Football Writers of America and the Associated Press in 2014.
