Chicago Police are looking for a gunman who jumped into a car, demanded money and fatally shot a woman in front of her sister’s two daughters she’d just taken trick-or-treating.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says 21-year-old Maria D. Coronel was in a car parked on the city’s Northwest Side on Wednesday night at about 9:20 with her sister and her sister’s two young children when the gunman walked up and demanded money. He says the women handed over cash but the man climbed in and implied that he was going to steal the car before he shot Coronel twice in the back of the head. He then climbed out of the car and ran away.
Coronel was pronounced dead at the scene.
