A video shows a forecaster for the National Weather Service in Rapid City, North Dakota attempt to launch a balloon in the middle of a blizzard with 50-mph winds, losing his glove in the process.

“Well, that was a fun balloon launch,” the NWS Rapid City tweeted.

“It’s a video of the standard balloon launch we do twice a day here,” the NWS told Storyful. “Just so happened it was icy and windy and the string attached to the balloon got tangled up around the arm prior to launch.”

Despite the weather conditions, the NWS said the launch “turned out just fine and made it in time for the 00Z model runs.”
