Barbie celebrates 60th anniversary

Barbie is kicking off its worldwide celebrations to mark its 60th anniversary, inspiring kids to dream big.

Mattel is launching a pop-up experience in Manhattan Saturday featuring a lifesize Barbie dreamhouse and virtual reality that brings dream jobs to life. 

The dynamic line-up features more than 100 dolls like astronaut and doctor, kids can also get dolls of all shapes and sizes and special figures include film director Ava Duvernay, ballerina Misty Copeland and aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. 

“The beauty of Barbie is that she’s constantly evolving and when we’re at our best is when we’re connecting to culture, reflecting culture.” Barbie’s Senior Vice President and Global General Manager Lisa McKnight said.
