JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WPMI) — A standoff between an armed driver of an 18-wheeler and authorities on I-10 in Jackson Co. Mississippi has ended.
While originally believed to be a road rage incident between armed truck drivers, according to Marcia Hill with Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the problems started in Alabama when an 18-wheeler caused two accidents driving recklessly on the interstate.
Once the driver was in Mississippi, deputies started pursuing the trucker. He pulled over got out with a machete and came at deputies.
When deputies backed off, the driver got back in the truck.
He stopped at mile marker 60 in a five-hour standoff.
