Drivers should expect more delays along US 41 in southern Hillsborough County as crews continue to rip up the road.
It’s going to take a few more months before the bumpy ride is smoothed along the heavily traveled stretch of road.
Drivers should expect delays and lane closures all day, at least until Saturday.
FDOT crews are repaving a 5-mile stretch of US 41 between Denver Street and Bullfrong Creek.
They’ve been working since November but not only on repaving; they’re also putting in turn lanes, traffic signals and more lighting.
A big part of the project includes ripping out the road near Pendola Point and Port Sutton Roads and replacing it with concrete to better handle heavy truck traffic.
Here’s where the 24 hr. lane closures will be (through Saturday):
- From Pendola Point to Port Sutton Roads.
- Southbound lanes between Gibsonton Dr. and Palm Ave.
- Crews will also be installing sidewalks from Denver to Dover Streets through Saturday evening.
The project is set to be completed late this year.
