Sarasota County school board calls for emergency meeting on Friday

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Sarasota County School Board has called an emergency meeting this Friday amid rising COVID-19 cases.

The news comes just one day after the Hillsborough County School Board announced they would hold an emergency school board meeting on Wednesday,

Sarasota County is currently feeling the stress of the pandemic, with 52 staff members and 316 students currently positive or being contact traced for COVID-19

The meeting is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m.
