POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Polk County firefighters and deputies made a little boy’s birthday extra special.

When Polk County Fire Rescue Station 28 and the sheriff’s office heard little Carter didn’t have many friends attend his birthday party, they joined forces to make his day extra special.

Carter spent time hanging out at the sheriff’s office substation on Highway 98.

The 6-year-old was able to check out Engine 28 and spent time with the firefighters and deputies.

Fire Rescue shouted out engineer Jared Forrester, Captain Chris Pierson, firefighter Ethan Macaluso, firefighter Ryan Stolberg, paramedic Ashley Lewis and firefighter Andrew Stricker, as well as Polk deputies, for making the boy’s birthday extra special.
