LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) – A Lakeland woman won a $1 million prize from a scratch-off lottery ticket Tuesday.

The Florida Lottery says Theresa Kmetz,55, won the prize playing the $1,000,000 GOLD RUSH CLASSIC scratch-off game, which costs $5 to purchase.

Kmetz chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $705,000.

Kmetz purchased the ticket from Circle K at 4415 Kathleen Road in Lakeland. The store received a $2,000 commission bonus for selling the winning ticket.
