Bartow Police are searching for a man wanted in connection to several armed robberies in Polk County, including pistol-whipping two victims after robbing them at gunpoint.
Detectives say 21-year-old Jonathan Vaughn is one of two men seen on store surveillance, entering the ATA Stereo and Sound store on August 3 and demanding money from an employee at gunpoint.
Police said Vaughn and 23-year-old Erik Futch ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.
About a week later on August 9, police responded to an armed robbery and shooting at the Azalea Gardens apartment complex.
The victims Juan Neira and Estefania Daza reported being assaulted when they attempted to purchase a cell phone.
Police say the suspects lured the victims into the complex, but instead of making a sale, they robbed them at gunpoint, pistol-whipped them, and fired shots at them.
The suspects were identified as Vaughn and 19-year-old Genard Smith Jr.
Police have arrested Smith, Futch, and 22-year-old Keirra Lampley, who is accused of acting as a lookout or decoy in the music store robbery.
Vaughn remains wanted on charges of Armed Robbery in the ATA robbery, as well as having an active arrest warrant for Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a Firearm in Public and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in relation to the Azalea Gardens incident.
Any person with knowledge of the whereabouts of Jonathan Vaughn, or information regarding these events, is asked to contact the Bartow Police Department at (863) 534-5034 or to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
