70-year-old Lake Alfred woman dies after snorkeling trip in Key West

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Lake Alfred woman died Saturday after a snorkeling trip in Key West.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Linda Adams, 70, was snorkeling with family members at the Eastern Dry Rocks. 

She returned to the boat around 11 a.m., stating she wasn’t feeling well.

Adams collapsed and CPR was started on the boat.

The Coast Guard arrived and took Adams to shore to waiting paramedics, who took her to Lower Keys Medical Center on Stock Island, where she was pronounced dead around 12 p.m.

There were no signs of foul play.

No further information was immediately available.
