Joe Biden says he's 'most qualified person' to be president

WASHINGTON (WFLA/CNN) - Former Vice President Joe Biden gave a strong indication this week that he may run for president in 2020.

During a book tour stop in Montana on Monday, Biden called himself the "most qualified person" to be in the Oval Office.

"I'll be as straight with you as I can," he said. "I think I'm the most qualified person in the country to be president."

Biden served as Barack Obama's vice president for eight years. Before that, he was a U.S. Senator in Delaware.

He says the issues facing the nation today, like foreign policy and the plight of the middle class, are the same one he's been working on for a lifetime.

The former VP says his official decision will be coming within the next two months.

Biden has run for president twice before. He dropped out of the Democratic race in 1988 and 2008.
