TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Governor Ron DeSantis signed what he called the “Freedom First” budget for the fiscal year 2022-2023 Thursday at a press conference in The Villages.

The budget totals $109.9 billion and has $1.24 billion in tax relief for Floridians. Those breaks include a gas tax holiday and a sales tax holiday on diapers and baby clothes.

Reserves are estimated to begin the year at more than $16 billion in the budget.

DeSantis also vetoed $3.1 billion in spending.
