A Tarpon Springs man is accused of trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a minor, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Jaciel Tellez-Arroyo, 35, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.

On Dec. 29, police said Tellez-Arroyo tried to solicit sex from an undercover detective who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

“He sent “her” (an officer) lewd photos of himself online and offered to pay her cab fare, so they could meet,” police said in a statement.

Tellez-Arroyo was arrested for use of a computer to seduce/solicit/entice a child to commit sex acts, travel to seduce, solicit, lure a child to commit sex acts and transmission of materials harmful to minors to a minor by electronic device or equipment, all third-degree felonies.

If convicted, he faces up to five years for each charge.
