PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A man was put in a tough spot when his bike—which he uses daily to get to work—was stolen in downtown St. Petersburg.
Police officers Corinna Branley and Alison Savarese didn’t want him to lose his only mode of transportation, so they reached into their own pockets and bought him a replacement.
The St. Petersburg Police Department shared photos of the officers delivering the new bike to his home on the agency’s Facebook page and the women received praise from a number of their followers.
“Awesome. You restore my faith in humanity,” wrote Sherry Townsend Miller.
“Community-oriented policing at its finest. Thank you, officers!” said Jenelle Bunton.
