PALM HARBOR, Fla. (WFLA) – A man was killed when a vehicle struck a tree in Palm Harbor early Sunday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at Eastlake Road and Pasado Drive around 4:45 a.m.
According to FHP, Kyle Birdyshaw, 25, of New Port Richey, was driving north on East Lake Road approaching Pasado Drive when he lost control of the car and left the road.
Birdyshaw over-corrected back across the road, entered the median, and hit a light pole before finally striking a tree.
The passenger, Ruel Ramos, 37, also from Port Richey, died of injuries suffered during the crash at Bayonet Point.
Birdyshaw was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital with serious injuries.
