Tarpon Springs police have arrested a nurse who was allegedly driving drunk with a toddler inside her car.
Jennifer Barberi, 33, of Holiday, was pulled over in the area of N. Pinellas Ave. and Anclote Road at about 5:35 p.m. Tuesday after someone called 911 to report a car failing to stay in a lane, according to an affidavit.
Police noticed Barberi had a 2-year-old child in her car, a 2018 Hyundai 4D. The officer also detected the smell of alcohol on her breath and said her eyes were bloodshot and watery, the affidavit states.
Barberi performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew a .41 on a Breathalyzer test, more than five times the legal limit of .08, according to the report.
She is charged with driving under the influence with a minor in the vehicle.
Barberi has one previous arrest for DUI from May of this year, police said. She is employed as a nurse practitioner, according to the affidavit.
Jail records show she was released from the Pinellas County Jail on a $500 bond Wednesday.
