Palm Harbor man arrested for sexually battering physically helpless teen

Detectives notified after victim was hospitalized for alcohol consumption

PALM HARBOR, Fla. (WFLA) - A Palm Harbor man is facing charges after deputies say he sexually battered a physically helpless 16-year-old girl.

Detectives say they became aware of the sexual battery after the victim was hospitalized for drinking a large amount of alcohol.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 46-year-old Charles Flohr befriended the victim through an 18-year-old mutual friend. The victim and the mutual friend went to Flohr's home in Palm Harbor Friday night when the incident happened, deputies say.

While they were at the home, detectives say Flohr poured shots of liquor for the victim then had sex with her. The arrest report says the girl was intoxicated and physically unable to resist at the time.

During an interview with detectives on Saturday, Flohr admitted to having the two teenagers at his home. According to the arrest report, Flohr "also made reference to possible consequences to having a 'threesome' with a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old" during the interview.

Flohr was arrested for sexual battery and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about other potential victims to contact the Crimes Against Children Unit at (727) 582-6356.
