Oldsmar man accused of recording himself performing sex acts on his dog facing more charges

Pinellas County

OLDSMAR, Fla. (WFLA) – Pinellas County detectives arrested an Oldsmar man after he video recorded himself performing sex acts on Siberian Husky dog.

According to detectives, their investigation began on Jan. 25 after a citizen living in another state contacted Pinellas County Animal Services regarding video and photographs on the internet of a man having sexual contact with a dog.

Detectives obtained copies of the videos and photos that show a man dressed in a black and white costume performing sex acts on the dog.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives tracked the video and photos back to Christian Nichols, 21.

On Monday, detectives made contact with Nichols at his home.

He admitted to detectives he made the video and shared it on the internet.

Nichols was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty.

He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

The Siberian Husky and another dog were removed from the home by Pinellas County Animal Services.

On Tuesday, Nichols was charged with 10 additional counts of prohibition of certain acts in connection with obscene material.

The new charges are a result of numerous videos the sheriff’s office said were found by detectives inside Nichols’ bedroom.

The videos allegedly depicted unidentified people having inappropriate sexual activity with dogs.
