Motorcyclist dies following U.S. 19 crash

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) – Pinellas Park Police say a crash involving a motorcycle and two vehicles shut down all of northbound U.S. 19 this morning, 

Pinellas Park police say the crash happened at around 4 a.m. Sunday in the area of Bryan Dairy Road and U.S. 19, of northbound U.S 19.  Police say the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control causing the rider to be ejected. 

A passing motorist stopped and attempted to flag down traffic, however, an unsuspecting Mustang traveling north struck the motorcycle rider.  

All parties involved are cooperating with the investigation.  A helmet was located at the scene, however it is unknown if it was worn at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing and WFLA will keep you posted when more information becomes available.
