LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) – Largo police are investigating a homicide after a man who called 911 to say he had been shot died at a local hospital.
Largo police responded to a call at 11:45 p.m. about a shooting at the Melrose on the Bay apartments at 16321 Bolesta Road.
Several gunshots were reported in the apartment complex. Shortly after the gunshots were reported, Ricardo Guzman, 32, called 911 to say he had been shot.
Officers found Guzman alive in his dark blue Toyota Tacoma in the north end of the complex near building #5103.
He was transported to Largo Medical Center, where he died from his wounds.
Police say Guzman did not live in the Melrose on the Bay apartments.
Investigators say a person was seen running from the area of the gunshots, but it is not known if this person was a suspect or a bystander.
