The couple wanted for a botched armed kidnapping that took place in Largo Wednesday was caught in Ocala early Friday morning, police said.

Rhionna Leann Anderson, 24, and Derrick Heckman, 30, were arrested shortly after midnight and will be transferred to the Pinellas County Jail in the coming days, according to a news release.

Police began searching for Anderson and Heckman after an apparent drug-related robbery Wednesday.

According to police, the couple and a third man, James Heimrich, kidnapped a 28-year-old man at gunpoint, bound his hands and feet with duct tape and forced him into the back of a rented U-Haul truck.

Police said Anderson shot the man in the head as he tried to escape. The victim was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and is expected to survive.

Police said the couple drove off in the U-Haul, then abandoned it at Largo Mall on Ulmerton Road.

Heimrich, 33, was arrested for armed kidnapping and attempted murder in the first-degree. He’s being held in the Pinellas County Jail.

Anderson and Heckman both face charges of kidnapping and attempted murder.

The couple is being held at the Marion County Jail and will be transferred to the Pinellas County Jail in the coming days, police said.
