Free skin cancer screening today

Summer is fast approaching here in the Tampa Bay area, and ultraviolet rays are getting stronger and Morton Plant Hospital is offering a free skin cancer screening today as part of Skin Cancer Awareness Month. 

The free event takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday and is open to the public but registration is required.

  • Morton Plant Hospital, Cheek-Powell Heart and Vascular Pavilion, 455 Pinellas St., Clearwater 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • South Florida Baptist Hospital, Community Health Resource Room, 301 N Alexander St., Plant City, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Winter Haven Hospital, Main Lobby, 200 Ave. F N.E., Winter Haven, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States.
