PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) – A Clearwater man and former foster parent was arrested on Thursday after investigators found child pornography on a USB drive he owned.

Pinellas Park police investigators received the drive that belonged to Robert Metzner, 40, from an informant.

Investigators obtained a warrant for the USB drive and discovered 160 images of child pornography.

Investigators then obtained a warrant for Metzner’s home, located in the Lakes subdivision on 103rd Avenue North.

Several electronic devices were seized when the warrant was executed and investigators will analyze them, looking for additional child pornography.

A follow-up investigation was also conducted regarding an alleged lewd and lascivious molestation that was reported in Dec. 2018.

An 8-year-old boy alleged that Metzner touched him nappropriately while the victim was in a bathtub.

Metzner was interviewed about the allegation and he provided statements that corroborated what the victim said, according to investigators.

Metzner cared for the boy as a foster parent through the Eckerd child foster care process for a week.

He was arrested and charged with 12 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation.
