Two people are facing charges after an armed home invasion robbery and kidnapping in Oldsmar, authorities said Sunday.

Deputies were called to a home in the 100 block of Kilsythe Street at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

The 27-year-old victim told deputies he heard someone enter the home, then saw three masked individuals with handguns. The man said they pistol-whipped him several times and demanded money and drugs, according to deputies.

The victim gave them an undisclosed amount of money before he was forced into the back of his 2014 Volkswagen, deputies said.

As the alleged culprits were driving off, the man jumped out of the vehicle and began running around the neighborhood and banging on doors for help. A neighbor eventually heard him and let him inside their home to call 911, deputies said.

The man was later hospitalized for minor injuries.

Deputies said the Volkswagen was abandoned with the engine running in the area of Kilsythe Street and Shore Drive East. Deputies also found a handgun in the car.

K-9 deputies established a track and located a 17-year-old suspect hiding in a pool, and 21-year-old Quadre Brown, trying to get into a home nearby.

The duo was arrested and charged with one count of home invasion robbery and one count of kidnapping.

The teen, whose name we have withheld because he is a minor, was transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center. Brown was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

Deputies said the third suspect fled the area before deputies could track him down.

An investigation is ongoing.
