An air pollution advisory was issued until dusk on Friday in Pinellas County.
Environmental officials in the county are calling it a precautionary advisory due to elevated ozone levels. The county has raised the air quality index to the “high moderate range“ until further notice.
Those levels could impact citizens who are elderly, very young or anyone with respiratory issues. Anyone who may be impacted is encouraged to take the conditions into consideration before going outside.
The alert is in effect until dusk Friday but county officials say elevated levels could occur Saturday and Sunday as well.
