CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) – The Coast Guard says it rescued three people after their 25-foot boat capsized in Clearwater Pass on Saturday.
According to a news release, the agency got word that a boat had capsized in the vicinity of Clearwater Pass at about 3:30 p.m.
A boat crew was dispatched and found three people in the water wearing life jackets. The Florida Fish and Wildlife and Clearwater Fire and Rescue also responded.
“Once they knew the boat was going to sink, the mariners gathered their possessions and tightened their lifejackets,” said Petty Officer 3rd Class Thomas Mann, the coxswain of the response boat. “As they entered the water, they stayed together and our boat crew was able to locate them immediately and pull them to safety.”
No injuries were reported.
