Remains found in Hudson woods are that of missing Pasco mother

HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) - Pasco County Sheriff's Office detectives announced that human remains found in the woods in Hudson have been identified.

A sheriff's office spokesperson said Thursday the body is that of Destiny Lee Aaron,  21, who vanished in April of 2017.

Aaron had a 2-year-old daughter at the time of her disappearance.

Deputies responded to a call about the remains at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday.

The remains were discovered in a wooded area near 12800 Jayton Avenue in Hudson.

Back in April, investigators asked for help finding Aaron. She vanished three days before she was supposed to be in court in a custody battle over her daughter, Vanessa.

Officials said Aaron was at a party on Placid Road in Hudson and left the party in the early morning hours of April 1.

The last people to see Aaron were those at the party.

Her boyfriend told her father the two had a fight and she walked away.

"There's no evidence to suggest that some sort of trauma caused her death," said Capt. Chris Beaman.  "Obviously we're investigating how and why she ended up where she did but right now we don't have any definitive evidence how and why she got there."

Detectives say Aaron had a history of drug use and that may have been a factor.

The investigation remains open.
