PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Pasco Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating a homicide at the Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve.
The sheriff’s office said a man’s body was found in a line of trees west of State Road 471 near Cumpressco Road.
“Through the investigation, it has been determined that the adult male was the victim of a homicide,” a sheriff’s office spokeswoman said.
On Tuesday, authorities arrested 79-year-old Miguel Angel Rios Pizarro in connection with the homicide.
Pizarro told authorities he shot the victim during an argument over money.
Deputies said the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

The Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve is an 110,000 acre preserve that spans multiple counties, including Pasco.
