UPDATE: Michael S. Whaley has been found safe.
PREVIOUS STORY: Pasco sheriff’s deputies are searching for a 72-year-old New Port Richey man who left his residence around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to drive around his neighborhood and check on water pumping due to the rain. Michael S. Whaley, who lives on Glissade Drive, suffers from dementia and has not taken his medications.
He has not been seen or heard from since he left. Whaley does not have a cell phone, credit cards or any means of determining his location. He is driving a 2004 Beige Kia Sadona Van with the Florida tag X0WZI. The vehicle has a sticker in the back window that says “I love my Sharpei.”
Whaley is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall. He weighs 220 pounds, and has blue eyes and gray hair. He was last seen wearing a maroon shirt and blue jeans. Anyone who may have seen Waley or his vehicle is asked to contact 911 immediately.
