A Pasco County man was arrested Tuesday after deputies say he threatened a wireless store employee with a gun.
Deputies say 37-year-old Laverne Levi Hall Jr. went to the Cricket Wireless store on U.S. Highway 19 in Holiday Tuesday afternoon and asked an employee if he could make a phone call. After Hall used the phone, the employee told him he had to leave if he wasn’t buying anything and said he couldn’t keep using the phone.
Hall and the employee then got into an argument because Hall was refusing to leave, according to an arrest report. The employee eventually pushed Hall out of the store and locked the entrance.
After he was pushed outside, deputies say Hall reached into a backpack he was carrying and pulled out a handgun. The arrest report says Hall pulled the slide back as if he was loading the gun and pointed it at the employee, who was then in fear for his life.
Hall ran from the scene but was eventually found nearby and detained. Deputies say he admitted to pulling the gun from his bag and pointing it at the Cricket employee to “scare him off.”
Hall was arrested for aggravated assault and taken to the Land O Lakes Jail.
