A family of six is so frightened by recent harassment by a neighbor that they put in security cameras to protect themselves.
“This guy came from nowhere. He just doesn’t like us for no reason. He doesn’t know us,” said the sister of the homeowner who didn’t want to be identified.
The neighbor is David Boileau, according to investigators.
He lives a few homes away and recently moved to Pinehurst Drive.
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco explained that he took aim at the family, including four kids, all because they’re from Iraq.
“This is one of those things that’s absolutely disgusting. It’s absolutely horrific. And everyone should feel welcomed,” Nocco said.
Investigators explained that Boileau broke into the family’s home Tuesday while no one was there.
He stole a purse with credit and gift cards inside.
The day before, he’s accused of throwing nails at a relative’s car hoping to flatten the tires, arrest papers said.
Detectives said he made comments about the family going back to the Middle East or “Trump will handle it,” the papers said.
The family is fearful that Boileau will get out of jail and continue the harrassment.
“I hope they not let him go. Maybe this person, he doesn’t have anything to loose,” the unidentified relative said.
Boilean is charged with burglary. Hate crime charges could be added, the sheriff said.
The FBI is also on the case.
