NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WFLA) – Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested a man in the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist on Tuesday.

John Mowry, 43, was killed in the accident at U.S. 19 and Salt Springs Boulevard around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Troopers arrested Somphone Phosy, 43, of Largo, after receiving a Crime Stoppers tip.

FHP said Mowry was attempted to cross U.S. 19 when Phosy allegedly struck him with his vehicle then fled the scene.
