DADE CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — A man from Hudson was killed while attempting to merge onto I-75 on Sunday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 6:35 p.m. near mile-marker 292, which is just south of Blanton Road.

Troopers said the motorcyclist was attempting to merge off the entrance ramp when he struck the a sedan in the right lane. From there, the motorcycle continued into the center lane, where it was struck by a pickup truck.

All southbound lanes were closed so a medical helicopter could land. The 75-year-old later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

FHP said no one else was hurt in the crash.
