2 Pasco teen athletes accused of recording sexual battery against 2 teenage girls

Pasco County

Two Land O’ Lakes teens are accused of sexually assaulting two teenage girls and recording them on video, police said.

Myron Bloom, 18 was arrested for sexual battery on April 5 and booked into the Pasco County Jail.

A 17-year-old student is also charged.

According to the police, the 16-year-old victim was drinking alcohol to the point she was unable to remember anything and Bloom recorded two the having sex and sending it to a 15-year-old.

Bloom admitted to police that he had committed sexual battery on both victims, both of which were under the influence of alcohol at the time.

According to Linda Cobbe with the Pasco County School District, Bloom is a varsity football and basketball player at Land O’ Lakes High School.

The other student charged also plays both sports, but did not participate this year due to injury.

Cobbe would not discuss their status as students, but generally a felony arrest would be grounds for suspension or expulsion.

“We are concerned because we preach to students, don’t share, don’t take videos of naked people, yourself or anybody don’t share anything like that. It’s a crime,” Cobbe said.

Kevin Doll with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office commented on the possibility of additional arrests.

“The man who took this video was creating child pornography.  He transmitted the child pornography using a social media platform,” he said.

“Anybody who gets this video could be charged with possession of child pornography as well.”

Bloom faces two counts of sexual battery and transmission of child pornography.
