(NBC News) – Watch out, Portland Trail Blazers—a “furry foe” is ready to do a battle on the basketball court.
Juno, the sea otter with basketball skills is making a splash a the Oregon Zoo.
The zoo shared a video showing the otter slam dunk the ball into the hoop before fetching a fish.
The 5-year-old otter, who was rescued off the coast of California, loves to do tricks before dunking the ball, like a spirited 360 or a radical roll.
But her skills aren’t just for show. Experts say they could play a critical role in the otter’s well-being and have additional health benefits as she grows old.
Her friend Eddie was also trained to shoot hoops as a way to exercise his arthritic elbows and it helped him live to be nearly 21 years old, making him one of the oldest known sea otters in the world.
