New photos released of infant found abandoned in plastic bag

Georgia authorities are still looking for the mother of a baby girl who was found abandoned in a wooded area earlier this month.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said the baby was found inside of a plastic grocery bag on June 6 after someone heard the infant crying.

Deputies responded and rendered first aid and the child was taken to an area hospital and was said to be in “surprisingly good condition,” according to reports.

This week, the sheriff’s office released updated photos of the infant. They’re asking the public to share any knowledge of a woman in the late stages of pregnancy who may have given birth to the baby.

The child is currently in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services.
