TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Two women and a 4-year-old girl are now in the hospital after police say they were shot in Times Square.
According to New York Police Commissioner Dermot Shea, police responded to shots fired at the corner of W. 44th Street and 7th Avenue just before 5 p.m. Saturday.
Shea says a dispute broke out between two to four men when the three innocent bystanders were shot.
The three victims include a 4-year-old girl from Brooklyn, who was shot in the leg, a 23-year-old woman visiting from Rhode Island, who was also shot in the leg, and a 43-year-old woman from New Jersey, who was shot in the foot. They were taken to Bellevue Hospital in New York City.
According to Shea, the toddler was buying toys when she was shot and will be undergoing surgery for her injuries.
None of the victims knew each other.
Police say they have surveillance video of one suspect leaving the area but are asking anyone with information to contact NYPD at 800-577-8477.
Shea says Times Square is set to reopen later Saturday evening.
