TAMPA, Fla. (CNN) – The popular smoothie bar, Jamba Juice, is shortening its name. From now on, the chain will simply be known as “Jamba.”
While loyal customers have been calling the chain “Jamba” for years, the company is making the change official.
Dropping food-related references from restaurant names seems to be a trend, as chains want to appear healthy.
Dunkin Donuts and Domino’s Pizza also shortened their names recently.
The name change also represents the menu better, since Jamba offers sandwiches, bowls and snacks in addition to juices and smoothies.
The company is also rolling out new store designs, healthier options and a redesigned mobile app with access to Uber Eats and Postmates.
