GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) — A fisherman reeled in a shark at the beach in Gulf Shores- but this shark was already caught- by an automotive belt. After catching the shark, the fisherman could see that a belt from a car engine was stuck around the shark, cutting deeply into its scales.
Local photography agency Sun Shots happened to be on hand as the fisherman was able to free the shark from the belt, and set it free. They posted the photos to Facebook, lamenting the state of pollution in the Gulf.
The shark swam away, seemingly okay, but the belt left a large indentation in front of the shark’s dorsal fin.
