A new era has begun at the Advent Health Training Center.
Assistant Defensive Line Coach Lori Locust and Maral Javadifar, an Assitant Strength and Conditioning Coach, spoke at the podium in Bucs gear for the first time.
These two women are the first full-time female coaches in franchise history AND the Tampa Bay Buccaneers become the first NFL team with two female coaches on staff.
If you were to ask the two about making history, they would tell you they’re just here to do their job. But Locust and Javadifar have earned respect from both their male counterparts and the players rather quickly.
In fact, Inside Linebackers Coach Mike Caldwell said having Locust and Javadifar has been great. He added, they aren’t seen as “female coaches,” but rather are seen as regular coaches trying to help this Buccaneer team be the best they can be. And most importantly – WIN.
Both women hope they might be able to inspire young women to pursue their love of sports at the professional level. Javadifar adds she hopes she can be a role model for these young women as many have mentored her:
